How to Classify an Incident (via Case Management)

Incident edit access is required.
Case management allows users to classify incidents. This is done by completing a series of questions design to identify the nature of the incident, as well as impact and severity.
The incident case can be reclassified by updating the severity log, providing a trail of the classification changes.
This article is split into the following sections:
1. How to Classify an Incident
- Click Modules and then Incident Management.
- Click Manage Incident Reports.
- Click on the ID of the incident to update the details.
- Browse to the Report Details, and then the Case Management section.
- Click New.
- Complete the required fields.
- Click Save.
2. How to Update the Classification
- Click Modules and then Incident Management.
- Click Case Management.
- Click on the Case Number to open the record.
- Click on the Case Severity Log tab.
- Click New.
- Complete the required fields.
- Click Save.
