This article explains how to troubleshoot the error message “Employee already exists with this email ID. Please enter a unique email ID.”

When creating an employee profile, the system may display an error indicating that the email ID is already associated with another employee record.

2.1. Checking for email ID duplication
Check whether an existing employee record is already using the email ID you are trying to assign to the new employee. Select the highlighted options shown below and enter the email ID to search.
2.2. Steps to avoid the issue
When an employee record is found with the same email ID, follow the appropriate action based on the employee’s status.
- If the employment status is Active, provide the new employee with a different email ID.
- If the employment status is Inactive or Withdrawn, update the existing employee’s email ID by appending a character or number so that it no longer conflicts with the new employee’s email ID.
