Industrial hygiene role permissions are required.
This article explains how to create a new chain of custody in the industrial hygiene module and what information it contains.
1. Chain of custody overview
The chain of custody (COC) provides documentation that samples were handled by authorized individuals as a way to maintain sample integrity. Users can generate a COC that contains the following information:
- COC ID
- COC generated by
- COC generated date
- Location code
- Lab name
- IH log number
- Type
- Plant sample ID
- Media
- Media lot or serial number
- Sample date
- Volume or area
- Total minutes
- Substance or agent
2. Create a new chain of custody
- Click the Modules icon.
- Click the Industrial Hygiene menu item.
- Click the Chain of Custody - Create New menu item.
- Click New COC.
- Enter all mandatory fields and save the record.
- Select Submit to Lab. This action submits the COC file to the laboratory.
