Locking transactional data forms in performance management

This article explains how to lock the transactional data form in the performance management module to prevent user edits. This ensures data integrity and stops unauthorized changes. Follow the step-by-step guide to secure your performance management system effectively.
1. Configuring data locking in performance management
- Click on the Setup icon.
- Select the Module Setup menu item.
- Click Performance Management.
- Click on Manage Data Locking under Transactional Forms Data Locking.
- Click the New button to open the Detail screen, where you can set up the locking rule for a form.
- Fill all the Mandatory fields and click Save.
2. Locking methods
There are three available locking methods:
- Lock immediately – Locks the entire form and all existing data.
- Lock for selected calendar periods – Locks data from previous periods and blocks new entries for those periods. The current period cannot be locked.
- Lock after a set time from reporting – Locks current month data after a specified time, but still allows new entries.
You can set multiple locking rules for a form.
Forms or records will show as locked based on the rules applied.
Note: Users can view records according to form permissions, but cannot add, edit, or delete locked records, depending on the lock rule.
