26.1 Incident management release notes
Who is this article for?
Administrators responsible for setting attachment permissions on completed detail report incidents and staying informed about OSHA-related notification name changes.
No elevated permissions are required.
This article explains recent enhancements to attachment permissions for completed detail report incidents and updates to OSHA‑related notification naming.
1. Review the existing behaviour for attachment permissions
The system previously linked attachment permissions for completed detail reports to the broader permission that allowed editing the completed detail report itself. This created a limitation where EHS managers could not configure an investigator role that allowed users to attach documents without also allowing them to edit the completed detail report.
- The existing permission named Edit Completed Detail Report also controlled the ability to edit attachments for completed detail reports.
- This meant that users who needed to add or update attachments were also granted access to edit the completed detail report content.
2. Understand the purpose of the enhancement
The enhancement allows EHS managers to configure investigator roles that permit users to work with attachments on completed detail report incidents without giving them permission to edit the completed detail report itself.
- This separation ensures more precise control over user capabilities.
- It supports scenarios where investigators need to upload or update supporting documents but should not modify the completed detail report content.
3. Review the new attachment permission for completed detail report incidents
A new permission named Edit Attachment for Completed Detail Report has been added to the IMS permission screen for all incident types.
- This permission allows users to add, edit, or delete attachments in the incident summary screen when the detail report is complete.
- The existing Edit Completed Detail Report permission now applies only to editing the detail report content and no longer controls attachment access.
- The existing Edit Attachment for Incomplete Detail Report permission continues to function as before and applies only to incomplete detail report incidents.
- The new permission follows the same dependency behaviour as the existing incomplete‑report attachment permission.
- By default, the new permission is automatically assigned to any existing role that already has the incomplete‑report attachment permission.
4. Understand behaviour for integrated incidents
When incidents are integrated, attachment editing is enabled for all selected incident types if the user has the new permission for at least one of the incident types.
- This ensures consistent access across integrated records.
- Users do not need the permission for every incident type within the integrated group.
5. Review the existing behaviour for the amputation incident notification
The previous notification event name caused confusion because it implied that the notification applied only to amputation incidents, even though it was triggered when the field “Did this incident involve an in‑patient hospitalization, amputation, or a loss of an eye?” was answered as Yes.
- The event name was “Amputation Incident Notification,” which did not accurately reflect all three reportable conditions.
- The associated email template subject line included “Amputation Incident - OSHA Notification,” which created compliance issues because the incident may not have involved an amputation.
6. Understand the purpose of the notification update
The update ensures that the notification name and email subject line accurately represent all three OSHA‑reportable conditions.
- This improves clarity for recipients.
- It ensures compliance by avoiding misleading terminology.
7. Review the updated notification naming
The notification event name and email subject line have been updated to reflect all applicable conditions.
- The notification event name is now OSHA to be Notified (in‑patient hospitalization, amputation, or a loss of an eye) in both module setup and location setup.
- The email subject line is now OSHA to be notified.
