This article describes two key enhancements to the Incident Management module: AI-assisted translation for incident details and date range restrictions for incident reports.
1. Using AI-assisted translation for incident details
The AI-assisted translation feature enables you to translate user-entered free-text fields on the Incident Detail Report into your session language, directly within the system. This feature is configurable through the AI subscription and must be enabled by your administrator.
Note: This feature is not available in Mobile Pro due to distributed screen design.
When you open an Incident Detail Report, the system automatically detects the content language of each free-text field (text box and text area) and compares it against your session language. Fields containing foreign-language content are visually highlighted with an amber background.
When foreign-language fields are detected, a contextual banner appears at the top of the screen displaying the detected language (for example, "Content detected in Spanish"), a "Translate to [Session Language]" button, and an inline legend indicating the amber-highlighted fields are original as entered by the reporter.
Translating incident content
To translate incident content, follow these steps:
- Click Translate to [Session Language] in the banner.
- Wait for the translation to complete.
On successful translation, all translatable fields are simultaneously replaced with their translated values, styled with a teal left border, teal-tinted background, and teal-dark italic text. The banner transitions to show "Translated: [Source] → [Target]" and a Revert to Original button.
Important: While translated content is active, all Save and Submit buttons are disabled to prevent translated values from being saved by mistake.
Reverting to the original language
To revert to the original language, follow these steps:
- Click Revert to Original in the banner.
This action simultaneously restores all translatable fields to their original language values, re-applies amber highlighting, resets the banner to the pre-translation state, and re-enables all Save and Submit buttons. A subsequent translate action triggers a fresh AI service call.
If the AI service call fails, the banner displays an inline error message (for example, "Translation unavailable. Please try again.") and the Translate button is re-enabled. No field values are changed.
Note: Only the first set will be translated in any repeated sections such as Witness, Vehicle Insurance Information, or Number of Injured/Involved Persons. This is currently a technical limitation.
2. Understanding date range restrictions for incident reports
The Period (Date of Incident) filter on key Incident Management Report Central reports is now restricted to a maximum of one year. This restriction helps prevent database performance issues and TempDB outages caused by unbounded report executions.
The restriction applies to the following six reports across two folders:
- Accident/Incidents – Integrated: Incident and Action Item Details Report, Incident Details Report, Incident and Investigation Details Report
- Accident/Incidents – Work Related: Incident and Action Item Details Report, Incident Details Report, Incident and Investigation Report
All predefined "Date of Incident" filter values that represent a date range exceeding one year have been removed from the filter dropdown across all six reports. Out-of-range values are remapped to their nearest valid equivalent (for example, Previous 2 FY → Previous FY, Current and Previous CY → Current CY).
Any existing saved "My Report" where the Period filter currently exceeds one year is automatically updated to use the corresponding revised valid filter value. Existing subscriptions on those reports are unaffected and continue to run unchanged. If you subsequently edit a subscription, it will inherit the updated Period filter value at that point.
For the Custom date range option, if you select a range exceeding one year and click View Report, Save, or Save As, an alert is displayed and the action does not complete until a valid range of one year or less is selected. The alert message reads: "Only one year of data can be filtered at a time. Please adjust the date range."
In case of "My Report", if the selected date range exceeds one year, it is updated to From Date + one year range.
