Configuring Incident severity classifications

This guide will walk you through the process of identifying and categorizing incidents with serious injuries or fatalities or incidents that have the potential to become serious injuries or fatalities, enhancing your ability to manage these types of incidents.

Important Note: As of EHS 24.2 new permissions are available that allow users to View or Edit Incident Severity Classification by incident type. Existing user roles must be updated to access this feature.
1. Configuring Incident severity classifications
- Select an Incident.
- Click Edit.
- Scroll through the incident reporting screen and above the Witness information section you'll find the Incident Severity section. This section includes severity field for categorizing incident severity. Select one of the available options.
Note: Default values are Serious Injury or Fatality Potential Serious Injury or Fatality Not Applicable. The severity field options are configurable, so your organization might have different values. Choose accordingly. You have successfully identified and categorized an incident's severity. Please note that, depending on your configuration, an investigation may be required for incidents with certain severity values.
