This article outlines feature changes, enhancements, and fixes introduced with this update.
1. Features
1.1. Ability to link one CAPA to multiple findings
Before, there was no option to create multiple action items for a finding from Finding Detail screen. There was also no option to link an existing action item to a finding (cases where one action item can take care of multiple findings).
To provide the option to reuse an existing action item and eliminate redundancy, we introduced the option to create multiple action items for a finding from Finding Details screen, without the need to navigate to another screen.
With this enhanced system:
- Existing Create Action Item radio button has been replaced by Action Item Section.
- Users can create multiple action items from this new section.
- When “New” button is clicked, any unsaved information in finding detail screen gets saved before Action Item Detail screen shows up.
- Users can link existing Action Items created for other findings of the program or ad-hoc action items.
- Users can also link Action Items to a Finding using Actions dropdown in Findings Tab.
- When a Parent Action Item is linked to a Finding all it’s child Action Items are also linked to the Finding. However, when a Parent Action Item linkage is removed from a Finding the Child Action Items would remain linked.
- Linked Action Item counts against each Finding where it is linked.
- Action Item Tab has a new column that shows count of Associated Findings for the Action Item.
- In Action Item Details screen a new field “Associated Findings“ which can be used to view all linked findings from this screen.
- Finding auto closure functionality has been updated to consider Linked Action Items as well.
This feature is available in Web only for this release. In the mobile app, Linked Action Items will not be visible.
1.2. Back button in Perform Audit screen
Previously there was no way for the user to go back to the list screen or source screen from where they navigated in the Perform Audit screen.
This enhancement introduced a Back button next to Program Status dropdown, visible from all tabs in the Perform Audit screen. Clicking the button will take the user back to the list screen.
If the user came to the Finding Tab from Action Item Detail screen using either “Navigate to Source” or “Associated Findings” links, the Back button will take the user back to Action Item Detail screen.
